Dear Folsom and Rancho Cordova Communities,
Many thanks to everyone that supported the effort that now allows me to serve as a School Board trustee. I am grateful to have received your support and honored to be able to represent our community.
I am here to serve on behalf of your children and you. To fill that role it is important to know what is important to you. Please feel free to contact me to share your thoughts or seek clarification on issues.
In the near future, our district may be facing some tough decisions. I am confident that by communicating, understanding the issues and working together we will get beyond the trying times. With our combined efforts FCUSD students will continue to receive the high quality education they deserve.
During this past campaign season, comments concerning lack of transparency and communication seemed to be reoccurring. One of my goals is to improve upon these two premises. I will try to maintain regular communication of information as concisely and forthcoming as possible.
In the past few years, our district has made improvement in regards to the availability of information. If you spend time visiting the www.fcusd.org you should find information on most departments, district policy, budget and more. In addition, links are provided for those who want to learn more about education finance.
One way to stay informed is to make a habit of reviewing the school board packet material. This information is posted on the School Board section of the district website. by the Friday before each scheduled Board meeting. The board receives this same packet on the same Friday. Note the consent, discussion/action and discussion items. Public comment time is available at each board meeting allowing for comments on these items. Additionally, time is allowed at the beginning of each meeting for items not on the agenda. As a parent, I understand sometimes the time you can devote to staying informed is limited. But, your concern about your child's education is always of utmost importance. In an attempt to assist you, highlights regarding agenda items will be posted on this website. Links will be available to easily allow you to find the board packet if you wish to further review.
The best way to voice your opinion on a subject item is to attend the Board meeting. If that is not possible you may email or contact Board members with your comments. Your opinion matters and should be considered before decisions are made.
